Parko's Last Lap: Episode 3

"Hawaii is competitive surfing’s Everest. There’s a true surfing warrior spirit there. It’s a place where I’d love to touch the sand as a competitive surfer for the last time."

Parko. The smooth, style-master from the Gold Coast is about to hit the water for his last ever event. And, for him, Hawaii was the only place to do it.

Joel has a huge history on the North Shore, winning three Triple Crowns (2008, 2009, 2010), and cementing his World Title and Pipe Masters Title on an historic day in 2012. It’s a place where he’s always nervous to go, is always sad to leave, and always lights up when there. Wipeouts, rivalries, friendships and wild pits. Hawaii has it all.

In this clip, Parko talks about some of his best moments at the birthplace of surfing, while some Hawaiian legends of past and present talk about their favorite memories of him.

And the ride isn’t over yet. Leading the Triple Crown ratings with his win from Haleiwa, Parko’s final send off could be another one for the history books.

#ONYAPARKO. Aloha & Mahalo.
